On the morning of 12th September, in order to lead teachers to fully and thoroughly understand and accurately grasp the concept, main line, structure and changes of the new teaching materials, and further improve teachers’ cognition of the teaching materials, the music group of the Primary School Division held a training session on new teaching materials, which was chaired by group leader Zhu Yueqin.
First and foremost, at the training meeting, Zhu Yueqin elaborated on the writing ideas and structural characteristics of the new teaching materials, who put forward suggestions for teaching ‘singing and playing’ in the lower grades. Also, through colorful and interesting singing and game activities, Zhu Yueqin focused on cultivating students' sense of rhythm, musical instrument playing ability, situational performance ability and initial artistic expression ability. In addition, she deeply understood the teaching concepts of new textbooks and innovation of teaching methods, aiming to stimulate students' interest in music learning and encourage them to actively participate in class. Furthermore, the new teaching materials attach great importance to the aesthetics, creativity and culture of music, striving to enhance students' music literacy and innovation ability through rich and diverse teaching activities.
To conclude, this training not only made teachers re-examine their own education and teaching work, but also clarified the direction of the teaching work in the later stage. Moreover, the new textbooks mark a new stage of music teaching in the Primary School Division, during which teachers shall try their best to internalize the new ideas accepted in the training into their own ideas, continuing to explore the road of music education.
